The Continuing Competency Practice Analysis (CCPA) is an evidence-based study that supports NBCOT’s certification renewal program. It identifies the key competencies expected of certified occupational therapy professionals beyond entry-level practice.
The studies resulted in OTR and COTA Continuing Competency Profiles that guide NBCOT’s renewal program and help align competency assessment tools in the NBCOT Navigator with current OT practice.
Certificants can use the profiles to reflect on practice, identify growth areas, plan continuing competency activities, and support mentoring or supervision discussions.
Together, the CCPA and competency profiles provide a shared framework for ongoing professional growth throughout a certificant’s career.
