- Final dates to take the exam:
Exam scores are released on the dates shown on the calendar below. If you want your exam result on a specific scoring date, which are the dates filled in with blue, you MUST take your exam a minimum of three days before that score release date. Those dates are shown circled in light blue.
EXCEPTION: Due to the transition to Pearson VUE administering exams in 2024, exams MUST be taken by January 22, 2024, in order to receive your exam result on January 26, 2024.
There are no exceptions to this. It is essential to plan your exam day with the scoring calendar in mind.
Score dates are shown colored in blue. The final date you can take the exam to receive your results on the score date is circled in light blue.
If you were approved to test on a DVF, your scores are not released until we receive and approve your official final transcript.
Once we approve your transcript, your score will be released in 24-48 business hours. You do not need to wait until the next scoring date. Your score will also be released to any state licensing boards you requested within the same timeframe.
Please send your official final transcript to NBCOT as soon as it is available. Electronic transcripts should be sent to email@example.com and need to be sent through a secure and verifiable transcript service or clearinghouse. If the transcript is mailed, send to our address at the bottom of this page.
Due to annual maintenance updates, there will be an exam blackout period December 19, 2023 – January 1, 2024. Candidates will not be able to take the exam during this time. The last day to take the NBCOT exam in 2023 is December 18, 2023. Testing will resume on January 2, 2024.
Please also note, in order to guarantee issuance of an ATT letter before the NBCOT office closes for the holidays, a candidate’s application must be complete, including receipt of payment and an official final transcript or DVF, by Monday, December 18, 2023.
